Eldena Bear Don't Walk
Eldena N. Bear Don't Walk is a member of the Crow Nation and a descendant of the Salish and Mitchif people. She graduated from the University of Montana with a Juris Doctorate and a Masters in Public Administration. She will complete an LLM focusing on Indigenous People's Law and Policy in December. She is the Chief Justice of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Appellate Court. She, also, sits as an Associate Appellate Justice for the Chippewa Cree Tribe. Eldena was the first woman ever to serve as Chief Justice of the Crow Tribe. She has previously served the Northern Cheyenne tribe and the Fort Belknap Indian Community as an appellate justice. Eldena was a public defender for the State of Montana before opening her private practice in St. Ignatius, MT where she hosts both a civil and criminal practice.
